Is the 2-8-0 and the 4-6-0 tender the same? Someone at Shapeways has designed a Southern Pacific Whale Back tender for the Bachmann 4-6-0 tender floor.

The designer clearly says that it will not clear the DCC equipment in the tenders, that he is working on a higher tender for DCC so if DCC is desired you may have problems making it work because of the tight space. My Ten Wheeler has the same type tender as on the Consol. so you may have to wait for his taller print to be designed.

Yes the tenders are the same . It may work if you remove the PC board in the tender and hard wire everything . Maybe a small DCC decoder will also fit .

You might find that there are 2 different tenders possible with the Spectrum DC 2-8-0. One with a plastic base tender with sidewalls of the tender attached with short pick up tabs on the tender trucks and the other with a separate base with circuit board attached and long pick up tabs on the tender trucks.
