I was at the train store the other day and noticed that bachman is selling HO locos with decoders for only about 24$. I have been shopping for decoders for my N locos and they tend to run about 24$. one wonders if Bachmanns little deal will help decoders come down in price. I sure wish decoders were more like 18$, that's a price range I can afford.

Have you seen this? http://www.sodigi.com I know it's not a FX decoder but the Digitrax DH123AT decoder with the Athearn harness included $20, $18.50 each for 6 or more. I dunno, this place has fair prices on all the decoders, IMO. 2slim
Well, I was talking about some DCC equiped locos for HO scale, but I model N scale. I just think that's an interesting product. It's basically a cheap loco for the price of a decoder. thanks for that link BTW. I am exploring the site a bit.
Disclaimer: I could be wrong and have no experience with Bachmann Digital. That said, think about it for a minute. Bachmann is known historically for putting out cheap, less then model railroad equipment. Most of it is just stuff. Even the Spectrum line is suspect. If this holds true for now and into the future... then the decoders they provide may be cheap...toyish. Just guessing, they aren't interchangable with Digitrix and etc. I would bet they only respond to the Bachmann DCC power sources. I wouldn't think twice about passing on anything Bachmann, over priced, over rated and anything but quality. I'm not a fan of Bachmann. Can you tell. Stung to many times...six Santa Fe 4-8-4 Northerns, all on the deadline. Let's hope they can turn things around with their new J4's. They need to switch tracks and turn out something of quality. Just my two cents.
