The "new" Undecorated Spectrum 2-6-6-2's haven't been released yet. The C&O road numbers are available.
Anyone know what shops have them, I've searched all my regular online dealers but can't find them listed anywhere yet. Slightly O.T., when I looked at Bachmann, they don't list them either yet, but they do list the 2-8-0 as DCC equipped, MSRP $200.
I know some people that have recieved the HO versions. The N scale's are at the distributors now so they should be in shops by the weekend or early next week.
Mine is either at my place now or on the way. Got it from C&O historical society. http://www.chessieshop.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=41_43&products_id=2144
I didn't check his site as he is the only online hobby shop in the known universe who won't ship overseas. I'll have to wait for them to come in elsewhere.
N Scale Supply is now listing the C&O version and the undecorated so they are starting to appear. One thing I cannot find anywhere is what couplers they are fitted with, Rapidos, Bachmann's dummy knuckles or their new working McHenry style coupler? Somebody please buy one and give us a review.
I would guess it has the working coupler. We got some restock 44T and rolling stock in the store this week that had the working stuff on it.
Bachmann has pictures posted on their forum.... http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/board/index.php/topic,12735.0.html
"At this point in time we are including it on Spectrum locomotives starting with the new H4 articulated." I hope the photos are of pre-production versions and that the spring and uncoupling pin will be blackened on the production version.
What about Traction Tyres??? Does it come with them or without??? Are the couplers McHenry's. Your would think that all the spec would be posted somewhere prior to the release. Does anybody know for sure? Bauchman site is useless.
It looks like the couplers will be Bachmann's new McHenry lookalikes. As for traction tires, N Scale Supply says '12 wheel locomotive electrical pickup', that might be difficult with traction tires, but I'm just speculating.
Wow, I thought those couplers looked great. I guess they could be darkened up. I can’t wait to hear how they work.
Westfalen, if you are still looking for stock, contact George at Wig-Wag. I believe he has them in stock and will certainly ship to you. Keith.
I'm waiting for someone else to get one first to tell us what they are like. It's easier for you guys in North America to send them back if they turn out to be duds.:tb-wink:
