Thought I'd throw something into the pot in this forum! Ed and I passed one of these in Cincinnati but never got back to shoot it! (Think it was a C&O, though). http://www.modelintermodal.com/boz_200785.htm http://www.modelintermodal.com/boz_201022.htm
JT, Ya know it says that the decals weren't made for those to be modeled but depending on how old those pictures are I believe I've seen the B&O's out for HO scale made by Microscale.... I could be mistaken tho.... But I know I've seen the decals... Anyway great pictures for the forum... keep it up! WE NEED SOME ACTION IN HERE! Its to quiet! Ha! I've been tryin to liven it but it seems that most of the "other" B&O'ers are busy doing something or just don't have the net all the time or something...
John, I am sending via snail mail a photo I took in Piqua, Ohio a couple of weeks ago. Maybe you can scan it in since it's on the old B&O line between Cincy and Toledo. Lot of motive power on that one. You'll see!
I'll be looking for it.. And when I get it I'll e-mail you that I got it... But Hopefully lots of interesting things on it... I'll have it scaned tho, I don't have a scaner but I got access to one so... The last time I went to get a few pictures scaned it wasn't working, but I think my uncle has it working now so.... If not a got a friend that will scan it for me and all I just have to send it to them....
John, Knowing me.... I'm sure I will... Thinking of it.... a line up in a yard of loco's in the steam era and being my favorite. Can you imagine a picture of the fronts of the B&O's entire EM-1 feet!!!!!! Thats 30 articulated steamers.. Thats asking alot but that would be some picture.... I don't know of any ever taken like that but I have a picture of 3 Big Sixes [2-10-2's]. On the point of 3 different trains... a real sweeeeet picture of B&O power....
JT, Thats ok. Its trains isn't it? .. It be nice if someone would have gotten a picture like I spoke about in my last reply tho.... You know being the B&O gave out passes to people to ride and all on the frieght trains, someone with a pass could have requested them possed like that for a picture and put into a book for the B&O.... Which no one did But it sure woulda been nice! I'd loved to seen 30 EM-'s lined up as a "Motive Power Line Up" for the B&O's biggest and best...
JT, I got the pictures today!!! I love the CSX shot! The Conrail shot is interesting tho... You had wrote a note in the back of it about looking in the cab... You wouldn't happen to rememeber what you saw when you took that picture buy anychance??? It looks to me like an Brakeman is having "FUN" or sleeping... I don't know which... E-mail me off the board.. I can't make it out to actually know whats going on behind the window glass.... I had to edit this. I called the Brakeman an Engineer the first time till I realized it was on the wrong side of the loco to be an engineer! HA! [ 10 April 2002, 23:06: Message edited by: 7600EM_1 ]
JT, I see that now! HA! Anyway, I bet the reason they had to hand paint on the number "2" on that picture is because they used either stick on number "self adhesive" or they were magnetic numbers and one blew off somewhere! I like the CSX photo the best... Its got a ton of colors in with all 6 diesels on it so... and a CSX on the point in good clean shape! [ 11 April 2002, 07:43: Message edited by: 7600EM_1 ]
Would you believe that the little bit of snow on the ground in late March was the first and only snow they had! I guess I was lucky! It added to the shot!
Very little snow indeed! I didn't notice any on the pictures tho. I'll have to take a closer look... But it snowed here on and off all winter, nothing spectacular though so... its wasn't a terribly bad winter here at all...
