Did the BM or MEC ever roster a car that looked like the PRR X29? I was told it either inherited or built copies of the ubiquitus PRR boxcar.
From the Northern New England Color Guide (Morning Sun), page 5: "Best known, by railfans, of any B&M equipment were the 71000 and 72000 XM-1 boxcars. These 1924 ARA Standard boxcars were part of a 2000-car order delivered by Standard Steel Car Co. in 1929-1930. Included in the order were 25 all steel cars, similar in appearance to Pennsy's well-known X-29... the all steel cars were lettered for B&M's subsidiary, Mystic Terminal Company... [and] were retired by 1960." A photo of a well worn MTC 71099 circa 1960 is on page 27.
