Does anyone have any photos, or know where I could find some, of the Southern passenger station in Attalla AL....what I really need is the 'SR' done in flowers in front of the station. Thanks!
Jerry, I have slides of all sides of the old SRR depot in Attalla. Not sure if I have the flowers in front of the station. Should I Email them to you or post them here? Glenn
Jerry, I just went thru my slides. 21 photos that cover the old station, but no flowers.:munhappy: The first and third photos are facing east. The second with SRR 4501 is facing south. I would have been standing just south of the L&N Mineral mainline which shows in the first picture. My photos were taken in 1979 when the new freight office was built south of the depot. Glenn
Thanks Glenn! Those are great photos without the flowers anyway and will help with detailing, etc. Good to hear from you....hows the other side of the state treating you?
Jerry, Things are going well. Had an OPs session yesterday. Still need more operators. I have 18 more photos of the Attalla depot if you need any other views. I even have a couple of interior shots. You must be working on a project for the layout in the Art Museum. Glenn
The wood station was torn down not long after the pictures were taken. That was one of my motivations for breaking down after 2.5 years of living in the area to take the pictures. I thought I might build a model one day and wanted to document the building so that I could use the photos to develop plans. Jerry, You are welcome for the photos. If you work on Dwight Mill, I have a number of pictures of it. Glenn
Dale, I have never seen any pictures of a station in Alabama City. I'm not sure where the station would have been located. Glenn
