Page 400 and over 4000 posts. Congratulations! The AT&SF #4000 and her partner #4001, (ok so I can't really tell) but they do look good as they pull their train through Franklin Canyon. Now that's a celebration. Who can stay away from this progressive thread. Looking mighty fine. My need for a Jerry's layout fix, is good once again. COL
Okay Jerry, we've got to get this thread to 5000 posts so you'll share more pictures like that with us.
Santa Fe had 40 GP60 models.....#4000-4039 I ran the 4030 in the early 90's when it was pool power on the I&O. Still my favorite run.
I was going to double track the whole outside loop area, but decided to shorten the inner loop by adding some new bench work and branching off the existing middle section that tied into the biggest loop of the dogbone. This will save ALOT of work, and the shortened run of the inner loop will mean that the two operating trains will not always be so perfectly timed since they will have different length runs. The idea behind the SP line is just to operate road trains. Turn them on, and forget them......hopefully.....while operating the ATSF Line. Finally got some free time since everyone is in bed finally.....LOL.....so I am going to get some photos and add some cork. We had our Thanksgiving today because Kimberly had to work yesterday, so it was a busy day!
LOL Thanks Mike! After 21yrs of working on the railroad I finally have enough seniority that I for once didnt have to work....and the wife did.....LOL Go figure.
Almost looks like a wye.....LOL I am not going to make it a wye, because it will be nearly impossible to reach this area once the ATSF Line benchwork is complete, and you KNOW this would be where most derailments happen or switches go bad.....so NO....it's not going to happen!
