I think the present owners and moderators might not take kindly to a "takeover". Some of them also posted on the Atlas Forum and had not invited us over there. There does appear to be some activity and 530 members.
Not takover just get together. N and Z Scale gets 3 or less posts a month. I think they wouldn't mind some traffic.
If I may add my 2 cents here, RailroadForum is a nice place for friendly discussion. It was actually created under similar circumstances when another forum kept pulling the plug for weeks on end. I of course, spend most of my time here on Trainboard and have never experienced the flaming that is rampant on some boards. I hope the you guys enjoy your stay!! Happy railroading! Russ
We are happy to have you Atlas folks here on Trainboard. The obnoxious flaming that happens on other boards is not tolerated here, and will be dealt with swiftly. Once again, welcome, and we invite you to stick around a while!
If other Atlas forum members are like me, we'll be checking out a few of the other forums and finding one that suits us. So far, this TrainBoard has a lot of potential - it gets the traffic levels that keep things exciting. But it's going to take some time to get use to the different layout/functionality.
I think both boards are nice. I am a regular on Railroad Forums. They are quite friendly over there but flaming and hot headed behavior is not tolerated over there. This Forum was the first forum I had ever joined but it got to slow for me and I was branching out to find different forums to join. I do come back here every once and awhile to see what is going on. But I don't post as much as I do over there. You guys are welcome if you want over there It is always nice to have people that are willing to talk to over there.

Thanks guys. Like I said before, I joined this forum when I first got started on the internet. It was really nothing that the forum did to drive me away. We were in the summer doldrums when a time of posting was down and I was branching out to find different forums. This one kind of got lost in the shuffle. I do come back and visit from time to time. Maybe it is just me cause I really haven't been posting to much anywhere here lately. I kind of tapped out of info and I really don't know to much that is going in the real railroading or model railroading world right now.
As I said in a similar topic you are all welcome here and we look forward to your participation if you have any questions feel free to post a topic in the admin forum.
This is my old home too...till it got so slow on my computer...I have High speed cable, and it takes no less then 30 seconds to a minute for a page to load... And I had REALLY important updates on a topic of mine over there...

As my member number shows, I was also here many years ago. As cited by another, this site was too slow, even for broadband. Obviously over the years there have been some upgrades! I do get a delay when I call up the first page... probably the server planting cookies or something. After that, seems pretty fast.
It was this one. Once they emailed me my old password I was back in business so kind of left the new one alone. It still flashes "NEW" and only has a few posts.
