I have a problem with my Atlas SD 60's.They keep having gears in the trucks pop out of place. It is the smaller idler gears between the axles.Does anyone else have this problem?I have tried buying replacement trucks, but before too long they started popping out too.Any fixes?
Dangerboy, Are you talking about the center axle lifting off the rail under power? If so I have had this problem too. Try putting the axle in a NMRA standards gauge, it will make the points of the axles fit loosely in the sideframe contacts if they are out of gauge. Causing them to lift off the rail. Hope this helps,Scott
Why not post this problem on the Atlas forum [which Paul Graf and others from Atlas monitor] seems to me if you want an answer it is best to go to the source.
No,I'm talking about the wee little gears that turn between the axle gears. I thought about posting this problem at the Atlas board, guess I will. Can't hurt to ask there too.
I posted it in the N scale Atlas forum when I first read of his problem. But basically I didn't get any bites, or I would have posted it here.
