I wanted to convert to DCC so I ordered a NCE system and a Lenz Mini-W Gold decoder. In order to convert to DCC I needed to be able to shove a decoder into my smallest locomotive, an Atlas 2-6-0. The tender seemed like the only place a decoder would fit, but running wires between the locomotive and the tender was problematic. It looked like I could fit the decoder in the Cab so I made some room for it. Here is a guide to how I did it. http://sonnet1.sonnet.com/usr/curn/DCC/ The locomotive seems to stall less with the higher track voltage of DCC, however stalling is still a problem with this locomotive. The best way to keep with Atlas 2-6-0 from loosing contact with the track is to have it pulling a few cars. The more weight it pulls, the better this little locomotive performs, DC or DCC.
