In Feb. I purchased a 50' pullman standard box car from the Walthers sale cataloge for $4.98. It was in the back section for clearance items. The car is letterd for Arkansas, Louisiana and Missouri RR. I finially opened the box yesterday and got a surprize, its like know other Athearn kit I ever had.All the grab irons are metal and have to be installed separetly, also the ladders, tag boards, sturrips and door handles have to be put on. The underside brake detail has all the hose and rod details molded in.I haven't heard of Athearns making super detailed kits has anyone else know of these or did I get a one of a kind?????
yeah I got one lettered for the South Branch Valley Railroad. It's actually pretty easy to put together IF you have to right tools. Athearn started these maybe a year ago, and they do look nice!
