Athearn F59PHI decoder options?

    Does anyone have one of these locos and what decoder did you use? If a hard wired one is required, does anyone know where I can find an installation tutorial?

    Hey Brian,

    I stuck a DZ125 in mine. I didn't even know the instructions Woodone supplied above existed but did essentially what they say. Only other thing to add is to be very careful and not knock out the rear light lens as it is a real bit#h getting it put back in. It's still a noisy locomotive but works ok with dcc installed.

    I hard wired a DZ123 in one from the first run. No board replacement decoder for them.
