For those who have the DCC version... did Athearn make the rotary beacon operable? I bought only DC versions so I know the beacon is not operational; but I am looking to DCC at least one loco and would like to have the beacon operate. Any suggestions from anyone on how to make it operational? :tb-err:
Not sure if this helps, but the April 2009 issue of Model Railroader Magazine has an article by Lennart Svedberg detailing how he installed a GRS 103 1.5v amber Super Micro Bulb on his decoder equipped N-Scale diesels. Mike
WOW!! :tb-shocked: Haven't really kept track of the DCC version though I did know they would be out later than the DC's. Just sorta figured maybe now was the time... back to my "Wait & See" rocker I guess.... :tb-cute:
If Athearn does NOT intend to make their beacon operational, then 'Yes.' I will be considering Richmond Controls... but not just yet. :tb-cool:
