Maybe someone can help. I have 2 Athearn f 59's that ran ok. I recently put on on the track, and it would go then stop, go then stop, go then stop, not like dirty whell stopping ,but just stopping, then running good for about 5 second intervals. It is the DC version, I cleaned the track and I had another kato unit running fine on another loop off of the same throttle. I cleaned the wheels on the f 59, and still the same thing. I took the unit apart(mistake?) to see what I could see. nothing looked out of place contacts look good. I took the other unit apart to compare ,then replaced the shell, and now it is doing the same thing!. I noticed that if I squeeze the area near the fuel tanks together with my fingers it will run, so I think it is a contact issue, but I cant figure out where. Does any one have any experience with this kind of issue, or now of any information out there for a repair? I have another unit(older) that has run fine for years and tears. When these two do run, on thier on off cycle, they have plenty of speed and power, with bright lights!. Help help!
