Yeah... I noticed that too. I have the PCM E7s which really didn't like DC... even though they would run on it. While runing on DC, If I use the horn function, the locomotive would slow down to compensate for lost power. I really didn't like that because, just as with the Challenger, the engines wouldn't start moving until reaching 3/4 of full throttle. Not that I wanted to run them at lightning fast speed, but, it really doesn't leave much room for speed contol using the throttle on the power supply.
Still searching for my DCC stuff. But, I did findout why my Challenger didn't run with the power supply I was using. The MRC 280 I was testing with has a MAX power output of only 14.5V!! About 3V short of what I need! Gonna try an MRC Tech 2, IF it can be found. Also on DCC when found also. Should be same box. Major work in basement, stuff scattered, it's no wonder I can't find what I need right now!
