    Hi everyone.
I have an Athearn N-scale Challenger on order with my LHS,
and I am anxiously waiting for October.

I have read that this model will be able to track 9 3/4" radius turns.
I can understand how the locomotive part can do that, based on
a mechanism that resembles a 12-wheel diesel for the drive wheels,
and assuming that there will be enough lateral flexibility for the lead
and trailing trucks. But what about that 14-wheel tender, where
the 5 rear-most axles appear to be in a rigid wheelbase?
Can anyone describe how this is going to work?

By the way, I am intending to run the Challenger mostly on the
main line of my layout, which has 11 inch radius curves, but I
would like to be able to get it in and out of my sidings, and yes,
l know there will be overhang, but I want to see (and hear!)
that big beast on my layout, anyway!

Second, if anyone finds more info on the Challenger while at
the convention, could they please share that here?

    Thanks alot!

    Carl

I have a LL 2-6-6-2. It will take the 9 3/4" turns but has issues with turnouts.
