The Athearn trucks and vans (and other stuff) have now been out for a couple of years... but... I'm not sure if what they are offering is necessarily decorated for actual prototype railroad "users" or other private "users". I know that many of their John Deere, Coca-Cola and other paint schemes may not be actual proto schemes... but how about the railroad lines they've decorated some of the box vans and stake truck? I know that Rio Grande had a motorway division, but a recent release of Ford "C" Box Vans depicts two different schemes which I'm not sure are of actual vehicles used by the Rio Grande Motorway. Can anyone confirm or deny the "proto or fantasy" issues on at least these two: http://www.nscalesupply.com/ath/ATH-10089.html http://www.nscalesupply.com/ath/ATH-10090.html Thanks.
I'm not really that familiar with Rio Grande motor trucks so can't say one way or the other. Anyone else have any input?
This photo from Hank's web site, show a RGMW line up with box vans - but the cabs look to be GM products....... Could have had Fords too....... So YES, RGMW had the box van body style........
