It looks like SP fans will get 4 different schemes in the bay window caboose. I was hoping to see the SP Police caboose!

Hopefully they'll get to it. I do like the bicentennial one.

Scott Lupia hacked his own together.

I'd like a Milwaukee bay window.

I'm surprised that the normal SP scheme was not done.

And that two of the SP schemes were one of a kind, the red/gray and bi-centennial. I am 95% sure that 1976 was not painted in the scheme, only the 1776.

According to the Athearn newsletter e-mail I received - orders due by 18 September 2009 - caboose ETA January 2010.

The normal SP scheme was announced first (a few months ago) and should arrive in a month or two.

I'd like to get a couple of the WP cabs in the brown, and I hope they do the red version as well.

The bicentennial caboose and the SP standard scheme one are in reality C-40-7s not C-50s so depending on how much you care re proto fidelity that could be an issue.

The Athearn B/W caboose in HO is a good model for the C40-4 caboose and with some minor modification can also be used for the C40-5 & 6.
A Espee bay window caboose is greatly needed for those in "N"Scale.
The 1776 was the only Bicentennial caboose on the late SP.

If not already, the caboose will be making a comeback to many layouts. I know it will be on mine when I finish my layout in 2067!
