Hey all. A few of you might remember me from a while back when I came around asking for advice on On30. All I really had at that time was an MMI K-37 I had bought, and a few pieces of Bachman EZ Track. Well, I have now finally begun my first layout!

I went with a 7x10 foot area, modular construction. The curves are 33" radius, the turnouts are #5. A little non-prototypical for an engine of that size but she looks fine going around. I am really excited to finally be able to do this, I've been waiting pretty much my whole life.

Here are some pics of the work so far; the tables still need legs which will be done next week, this is essentially a mock up of the modules together so I could see how the track fit:

(this is the side of the garage it will actually go on, if you can tell by the fact that I taped out the area)

(this will probably become a small yard)

And that's about it for right now. I'll have a lot more to show next week when it's done, and I'll be sure to update here as I work on it. I am just really happy to finally be doing this, I can't wait to share my progress.

Oh also, for those interested I started a youtube channel for this project as well, so if anyone wants to see the video updates I am posting them there. I already have one that has a few more pics of the layout in it. Hope you guys like it!

    Hey ArtFan,

Good start! You're farther along than I am. (But hey - I had to remodel my basement first....) Keep the pictures coming.

Same here... except I'm still digging my basement. I like that access hole-in-the-center idea. It would also offer interesting photographic opportunities.
