Hi everyone...(A NEWBIE HERE) I want to build a Layout in a art box I purchased from Hobby Lobby. The box will allow for 135mm radius curves and short straights . My queston is will Micro trains flex track mack this turn? and if so any help on bending it would be most appreciated.

    Welcome to Trainboard!
FWIW, I have done curves in Peco flex down to 5" radius. MT flex should do just as well.

Yes you can make the radius tighter. Loren Snyder has a 3 1/2" radius layout built into a silverware box. I think he sawed the plastic on the underside of ties every other tie or something to make the track flexible.

Z Man; I recently built two different small "box" layouts, one in a brief case, and one in a small wood cigar humidor. Yes MTL flex will bend to these tight radius, but here are a few tips of sucsess.

    1. pin your work in a jig to hold the curve. MTL flex will hold a certain amount of curvature, but will reflex back on you a bit, so a jig helps keep everything aligned.

    2. solder your rail joints. This will keep the tight curves from pulling appart on you. the last thing you will want is a gap in one of the rails at the connection point.

    3. The above mentioned solder joints wil give you nice locations for drop feeder wires to be soldered to. nothing looks worse than an ugly feeder track in a small layout.

    4. Be sure to complete and fit any bridge work under your flex track before you tack it down.

Over on the Z Central Station site, you can find photos of the two mini layouts i build as gifts....Check them out...

Ahhhh..... Inspiration at it's finest! That's what Z scale was founded on. Put it in a breifcase to carry around with you. It's one of the greatest impressions at the shows.
