I am planning on doing an around the room (actually part of the basement through a few rooms) n scale layout. I wanted to attach it to the wall but I have found that the one corner is not square. Is there a way to get around that issue? Thanks for any help you can offer.

I have seen a few layouts that have taken corners out of the picture altogether. Perhaps rounding the corner with luaun plywood or some other material will help. Then it would not really matter if the corner were square or not.

    Around the room

The layout here is an around the room layout. It is a shelf layout sixteen inches deep. There is a lift out for the doorway.
As to the unsquare cornor I suggest building the layout to fit the cornor and make the inside of the cornor square. Three dimentional scenery in the cornor could hide the cornor.
Somewhere in my posts on here are some photos of the layout. Search in my posts part of my profile.

Not sure why square matters. Heck, the track isn't square, streambeds aren't square and mountains aren't square (at least most of 'em). Just build to follow the walls at whatever angle they are.

My layout is attached to the wall using homemade wall brackets. Since the brackets are attached to the middle of the walls, I really don't have to worry how square the corners are, you just run the L-girders to the edge of the next wall. Also, two of the corners are hidden behind a 1/8" hardboard backdrop, flexed to curve around the corner.

Hardboard backdrop flexed to curve around the corner.
Note: The horizontal wood braces at the bottom of the backdrop in the first photo are temporary supports. They were removed before installing benchwork.

I do have a third corner that is not square & does not have a curved backdrop:

I had to shave an extra 1/8" off of the inside edge of the subroadbed to deal with the offset. It shows up as an 1/8" gap between the subroadbed and the wall right where the layout enters the closet. This will be covered up by scenery.
