Reports have been coming from several railfan sites (and confirmed by railroad owner David Donoley) that the Arkansas-Oklahoma RR has sold off all five of their B23-7s, and will be replacing them with one GP30, four GP35s, and one SW1200. The railroad still has at least two GE Super Series rebuilds, as well as several former BNSF B40-8s. Three of the B23s are in Shawnee, OK, pending movement off the railroad, while the other two are in McAlester, OK. The GP30 is in Sapulpa, OK (southwest of Tulsa) being repainted, while the four GP35s are in Ohio and the SW1200 is in Ontario. Unsure of their ancestries, but I was told the GP30 has trade-in trucks from an Alco. So, if you're in the Sooner State, it's best you skedaddle over to Shawnee or McAlester to get shots of these red & yellow GEs before they depart for parts (or scrapyards) unknown.
