Hi, I am told that I am a rarity because I live in the USA and I am heavily into BEMO HOm Swiss outline model trains. My specific interests are the RhB and the SBB Brunig Line. Is anyone else out there who is also into HOm? Sign in below and state your interest.
When I used to model Swiss railways, in HO, I did intend having some metre gauge as well as standard, but was put off by the price of Bemo. My main contact with metre gauge in Switzerland is the Furka-Oberalp, Brig-Visp-Zermatt, BOB and WAB up to Wengen. ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery

I was shocked at the prices too but you know what? You get used to it once you learn how to buy it. I noticed you're from England so you may have dealt with WINCO. I tried him once but his prices are too high and he is difficult to do business with. Would you believe he etched a mark that said "WI" in the fuel tank of the model I bought from him. He said this was to prevent people from returning models to him that were bought elsewhere. I told him, well, it didn't work because I am returning this model to you and never buying from you again. Anyway, when it comes to BEMO you have to buy it direct from Germany. There are several good dealers there to choose from. The exchange rate is excellent right now (at least with the US Dollar) and if the dealer doesn't carry a large stock I don't care because BEMO delivers pretty fast to the dealers in Germany. It's still expensive but you do get used to it and the best things in life are worth paying for.
