Hi gang - Is anyone out there in Modesto that would mind taking a few pictures for me next time you're trackside downdown? I'm scratchbuilding the JS West mill complex... Scratchbuild project - Modesto J.S. West Mill complex - TrainBoard.com I've taken a bit of a break from it but am getting back started, and can't get a clear picture of the top of the elevators between the 4 silos and the big elevator building. It looks like there are 2 elevators side by side, with the shorter one being painted black? I'm working off of google earth images and slides that I took when I used to live there, but can't get a good angle of what's going on up there...what I'm interested in is the elevator tower in the foreground in this photo, it looks like there are 2 of them side by side, but it's hard to tell and also hard to see which pipes go where: Any help would be MUCH appreciated! Have you checked out the Bing maps birdseye view? Modesto is pretty well covered, and the photography is high-resolution. Bing Maps You have to get in close, then change to aerial photography view, then go to birdseye for the oblique aerial view.
