I am wondering whether anyone here has kitbashed an Athearn Challenger into a challenger of another road. I am considering altering mine to the appearance of one belonging to GN, NP, or SP&S, though I may just wait until I find a damaged or somewhat abused one at a swap meet and spare the one I already have. What are your experiences? (I already know that I am crazy. :tb-wink
SteamDonkey, I consider such an undertaking myself, converting a N-scale Challenger to a NP Z8, using the GHQ conversion kit. I already converted a RR Challenger to a Z8 so I have some experience. I have a second kit and an Athearn Challenger but too many other more pressing projects. The Athearn Challenger is longer than the RR, so I am not sure yet what will be involved in the conversion. I understood that GHQ wanted to investigate if the Athearn engine could be used as a starting point, but I have heard nothing since. Cheers Dirk
