Kevin, are the last series about "digging your own pit" after a contractor failed to show up? Seems I read a report about it elsewhere on the net. :tb-biggrin:
Apparently the contractor we had engaged pulled out at the last moment. One of the club members is connected with a contractor, they came in and saved the day. This pit is going to let us drop the brake cylinder pistons for rebuild, (they are vertical between the frames) and let us work on the rest of the engine brake rigging. Regards, Kevin

Those are great, Kevin. Man, you guys are REALLY into it now. I know this baby will run some day. :tb-biggrin:
Seeing modern tools, such as a dial caliper, I can only imagine what it was like years ago. When their measuring equipment was not as precise. Yet they did it so well... The skills my ancestors had in their boilermaking and machinist work must have been quite something special. Boxcab E50
Time for another burst of photos. Also the club site has a work status update a couple times a month. 12-12-09 12-20-09 01-02-10 1-9-10 1-15-10 Enjoy, Kevin
I have been following the work on the 2926 through the website and pictures for a good while. Sure hope to see her under steam in person someday! I'll second the thought of doubleheading the 2926 and the 3751..... hair raising! Would me a remarkable experience if someone could coordinate and get all these massive machines of renown (ATSF 2926, ATSF 3751, NKP 765, PM 1225, UP 3985, SP 4449 SP&S 700, etc....) all together in one location.
Kevin- How's your funding holding up, with our current economics? Hope things are still solid. Still holding to schedules? Of course, more money would always be nice..... Looking good! Boxcab E50
