I'm planning on trying to get down to Anaheim for the NMRA National Convention on Thursday. My present condition prevents me from going more than one day, and I'd like to make the most out of it. To those of you who are there, what do you think are the most important things that I should see? Best!
Randall, The trainshow doesn't open up to the general public until Friday at noon. Thursday is set up day will be quite crazy. Don't know how you get in without exhibitor ID. Of course on Friday you will have to see the 24 sq. ft. X module I made over in the Z section! Cheers, Jim CCRR
I thought NMRA members could get in before Friday. I'll have to review the info. Thanks. By the way Jim, your Hawk's View will be my Wordless Wednesday post tomorrow. Best!
Lego Fantasy Railroading Lownen / Randall, As I visited Friday, I couldn't help but think of a previous discussion we had on advise to youngsters starting out in the hobby. I was wondering if you got a chance to see the action over at the Lego presentation. I couldn't help but think this would be perfect for a 5 to 7 year old youngster. The trains certainly turned the head of this inner child. There was lot's of good things to see. Had a great day!
Rick; I was there on Saturday. As I posted in another thread, I have an image gallery and report up on my About.com site. Too bad we were there on different days. I'd have been glad if our paths had crossed. I agree... the Lego display was amazing. As I was trying to photograph examples of modeling that I thought stood out, I didn't take any of the Lego. Perhaps I should have. I probably could have done an entire gallery just on it. Best!
Only, to sorry we didn't get a chance to meet in person. I was on another posting where you talked about a "Thunder" train. I found this reference and thought it might be of interest to you. Bachmann #24013 Thunder Valley Set N Scale The one you mentioned: Athearn Thunder Rails Set Delaware & Rio Grande 140-10039 Originally produced by RoundHouse. And more: Google I also noted other refrences to "Thunder" in Atlas, Athearn, American Flyer. Seems that almost all the scales has a "Thunder" train set. Take care!
