To all those people both members and guests who have vivsited this site i would like to extend my thanks and gratitude for your participation here. We have thoroughly enjoyed the excellent posts and topics that have been active here to past 3 weeks. For those anxiously awaiting the reopening of the Atlas forum I hope you still drop by here as often as you have recently. I dont believe we are in direct competition with Atlas, I believe both sites compliment each other. I am also an active member of the Atlas forum and as what has been said before both sites are different in a lot of ways. To the number of guests that have been visiting trainboard we welcome you to join and participate, I promise we won't bite Once again thanks for your participation and hopefully look forward to seeing you all here in the future.
I have been a member for years and did not remember about it. (Man, getting old is the pits when you forget like that) So, to quote the new Governor of California from one of his movie lines........nah, I would rather say it another way. See you later.
With such a warm welcome as yours Colonel, it would be a shame for me to continue "lurking" on the board! While I'm fairly new to the "real" model railroading, I actually laid cork roadbed and wired up a selector to run TWO trains this year at Christmas! I'd like to thank everyone here who contributes, as the search function has come in very handy these last few weeks. The little woman wasn't happy to see the dining room table cleared of the train stuff after Christmas morning, so I'm really using the search function (and links to everyone's great websites) to get some ideas for a semi-permanent layout that can be around all the year! Hope I don't ask too many questions that have already been answered... Thanks again for the warm welcome, Joe (from Sacramento)
Joe I'm glad you have found the site useful and asking question is what this place is all about. If it wasnt for this site i would be nowhere near the progress on my layout.
The one thing I liked about TrainBoard when I first became a member is that it wasn't just about Modeling and it allow people from all areas of Railfaning to come together in a single place while having their own unique forums at the same time. I know when I took my web site offline to rebuild it there were several modelers that contacted me hoping to see if the site would be back soon as they used it for prototype work. Sure, we have had our ups and downs; but, to me this was been a great forum to meet fellow railfans.
I really like the structure of this board. And the knowledge passed around. I will definitely not abandon a great forum like this one, even though the Atlas board is open again. Thanks for being such gracious hosts. Jacob
I'm finding this board is more my speed. I'm not sure how to put it nicely, it's not what's here but more of what's not here. I enjoy the gentlemanly exchanges here and have never seen a posting I would concider disrespectful of another's point of view. Here it is a polite "agree we disagree", and then move on. Yes, I will continue to be active here. I'm not one to surf all the forums on the web, two are more than enough for me.
