Built in November 2004, by railroad standards, is quite new. It still has its shine on it. Who'se is it? I have not been able to find the reporting mark in any current listing. Here are a couple of detail shots.
I love the "DO NOT STEAL" on the right side of the railcar... It'd be kinda hard to sneak off with one of those!
If someone had made up their mind to take a railcar when they woke up that morning, would "Do not steal" painted on the side of the car slow them down any?
I have heard of scrap yards cutting up the gondola that brought in the scrap. Railroad records were so innacurate that it was a long time before it was missed. The scrap yard just got an extra 50-60 thousand pounds of metal. That is just a drop in the bucket for some large facilities.
