What MT conversion do you use, and how simple is it?

I took a look at the coupler box and instruction sheet but i wanted to ask anyone who has done it already

thanks in advance for any help/assistance

1015 or 1016, with the universal mounting shim down, same as all the previous Life Like units since the SD7.
Remove the "U" clip that holds the coupler in place, discard the Rapido coupler along with the small flat brass "spring" that is attached to the clip, Insert the assembled 1015/1016 with the mounting shim on the bottom into the hole and replace the clip by putting the center pin into the hole in the coupler and push down untill the side clips snap into place (don't use too much force).
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers.

This is an area that I always get confused. When they say mounting shim on the bottom, do you mean the bottom of the coupler? where does the shim go in relation to the body of the loco? in between the coupler and body or in between the clip and the coupler?

Mount one, then check it against the MT coupler height guage. If it is too low, then put the shim on the side away from the loco body. If it is too high, put the shim between the body and the coupler.
