These two retired ACMU (Air Conditioned Multiple Unit) cars just arrived at the Danbury Railway Museum. I don't know much about their history, as yet. They were donated to the Museum by Metro North. Here is a view of the cab. I will have a few more pictures later.
Great to see them go to Danbury! Danbury is getting quite the collection. I remember seeing them at Croton Harmon but with my FL9 selective attention I never photographed them...now I wish I had. I don't know much about 'em, they came from the New York Central is about all I know. [ September 04, 2005, 09:21 PM: Message edited by: Don Rickle ]
That is about the extent of my knowledge of these coaches. I hope I will have a little more when I am ready to post a few more pictures.
Are they self-propelled, they look like they'd be really easy kitbashes from regular coaches. Thanks Chris Mears Charlottetown, PEI
Chris, These were self propelled from third-rail pickups. The pick-up shoes, and possibly some other power parts were removed by Metro North before delivery to the DRM.
