A neat shot, from today! Part of the Longmont Local power: An EX Union Pacific unit. Now an NREX unit. Gotta love that professional patch job!! Building behind, was the former Longmont Foods/Butterball turkey plant. Now being torn down slowly, and eventually converted into an Apartment complex, with parking, I think! Haven't been out enough in recent days for photos of other stuff!!
We have at least one ex-UP GP39-2 up here on a short line. (NREX.) You should see the rattle can numbering job on that one!
I'm lucky this one has been around for a while, as local power. I've seen one other like this, at Palmer Lake, years ago though! Gotta be in the right place at the right time, with camera! Which most times, I'm not! I'm use the lease unit paint jobs can be, well....Interesting? To keep it clean, and polite! Gotta get out more, but I gotta get my disability benefits first! Still waiting. Oh well, at least I AM able to get out now and then, even if it is in town, or fairly close.
And another interesting catch, from today, Sept 26. Here's the other half of the BNSF Longmont Local power in town. A matched pair of GE's BNSF #520 BNSF #521 The pair Wouldn't mind trying to reproduce this set of units.......
