This is interesting, cause I thought the Milwaukee Road owned it from the 60's until they're bankruptcy in 1980? Pretty cool to see them still in business, and hopefully build itself a bigger customer base to serve!
The MILW did buy the original WI&M. (I believe it was in 1962. Would need to find my notes.) However, this is a completely new, unrelated operation of some, but not all of those same rails.
As planned right now, from one of the co-owners, I am told they hope to lease ex-Central Montana Rail GP9 #1838. (Ex-BN #1838, nee GN #686.) This unit is presently owned by Western Rail, as their WRIX #1838.
I am told they do not expect their Geep to be on the property this month. They are first working to ready the line for operation.
