Thanks again everyone for your kudo's on the F Units. To date they were my best paintjobs, But I hope to do an even better job on another A unit. I only have an AB set, so I call it my Mainstreeter, but I ordered parts from Kato to make 3 more dome cars, and I have a GN F7A that all will get the Lower Green treatment so I can upgrade my Mainstreeter train into the North Coast Limited.

I think I remember seeing the NCL on HemAdda2d's webshots last year, and his Catzilla had knocked it over. :D So I'm not the only NP modeler here on Trainboard.

    Pray59,
I seen those 2 F units in the contest an I will say from one professional to another, they are some superior work! VERY well done! Nice craftmanship! As Watash has said those are great looking! That takes the detail world one step higher! And not to mention gives brass a run for its money in looks! Nice job!

I look forwards in the next 500 posts (which the 500th post was done with class!) Give me some insparation to detail my E-8's like you did those F's.... WOW Keep up the great work! [IMG]

This thread somehow got a high importance attached to it. Note the red exclamation point in front of the topic title on the n scale forum page. I think this is why it is staying at the top of the list no matter if there are any new posts or not. Moderators, is this right?

Thats funny, I never noticed the red exclamation point before. I only go into the individual forums when I post a new topic, but use the main page lists for general reading and replying. Neat!

I went to Mike Skibbe's site and see he has a beautiful Northern Pacific 1958 Budd Diner built from a Concor Budd coach body, and photoetched stainless steel etched sides. It is hands down, one of the finest examples of modeling a NP Passenger car I have seen.

Now that Mike has raised the bell curve, I have to go back to the drawing board, and start all over on an NCL! :D

    Great Job Mike! [IMG]

One of the administrators or moderators made this a "Featured Topic" which makes it stay at the top of the list. Notice the option in the middle of the tool bar at the bottom of this page.

Why not??? Most likely, it already has a regulator on it. Just figure out what fittings you need to attach the airbrush hose to the regulator and adjust the pressure to around 20 - 25 psi. Also, add a moisture trap between the hose and the regulator. You should be able to get all of this from your local hardware store.

I picked up a dessicater filter from Harbor Freight for $6, and have never had any problem using my garage air compressor with it. One thing I do is after the air compressor shuts off, I open the petcock on the bottom for a couple seconds to blow the excess water out the bottom of the tank before I start airbrushing. My dessicator has not saturated yet in 2 years of causal airbrushing with it. (it's supposed to turn pink when the dessicator crystals are saturated)

well mike you have a point, only problem, it is gas powered, AKA noisy!!!!!!!!!!, but heck just picked up a "pancake" compressor to power the trim guns and the hard wood floor nailers. And here I thought I had a polish last name!!! :D .

Ray , good idea bout draining the water before, we always drain every other day, but a nail gun and a airbrush are two different pieces of equipment, great Idea, when I get the fitting, i will try it, And I promise to post my first try, even though it maybe a ugly duckling!!!!!!!! :D

Thanks for the help guys, anybody going to the n scale convention in houston?, adios from texas
