CP has released the timetable for this years holiday train. Canadian schedule US schedule Pictures from the 2004 CP Holiday train when it stopped at Port Hope (Belleville sub). There were some of the old heritage coaches on the tail end. There was a stage car, and when the train made a scheduled stop, they opened the side of the car and the musicians started to perform. I have seen the train a couple of times, and it is spectacular.
It is so refreshing to see that at least one major railroad has not let the MBA Harvard Business School types turn them totally against any interest in the public. Thought it was interesting a few years back when I made the mistake of calling CSX in Jacksonville to ask if I could take some pictures in Thurmond WV. The "lady" I spoke to from the CSX hostile-to-the-public office told me not to even try it or I would be arrested for trespassing. When I told her that had written permission several times from the Trainmaster in Grand Rapids to go on CSX property around Holland, she told me that Trainmasters have no authority. The Trainmaster in GR had quite a different opinion when I told him what she said!
I was going to ask if CPR used their "theatre car" on this train, but I see from your photos that they indeed do. What a novel idea.
Sorry for answering my own post but it appears CP has at least 2 theatre cars, 401750 in candy apple red and 401753 in traditional maroon.
Hard to believe it's already coming to that time of year! Looking forward to seeing some pictures when these run! Boxcab E50

Just got word from another D&H Railfan of some photos of this years train. Port Henry Amtrak Station November 29, 2005
Still hoping to see a photo that will show the lights for 2005 like Milne post from 2004. Here is another Gary Knapp photo, this time from Plattsburgh, NY Amtrak Station on November 28, 2005 where you can somewhat see the lights.
Quick update! One trainset departed Beaconsfield (Montreal) bound for Smith Falls 20:15 this evening. The 2nd trainset is due for servicing overnight at St. Luc yard and then will head for Smith Falls as well.
