Getting near our stop to take a short river boat ride and what do I see out the bus window... [ March 20, 2006, 02:21 PM: Message edited by: Stourbridge Lion ]
Alan, you're probably correct...that looks like a DB Juice Jack on the east bank of a river that appears to have a 5-7 Knot current. My experience on the Rhine is limited to one boat cruise, and even less anywhere in Germany proper, but I would guess that this was taken somewhere within 20 Km upstream of the Lorelie(sp?). (What else would you expect from a Foamer, who has also been a fresh water sailor most of his life....?)
As we took a river bout trip along the Rhine River we saw several trains... [ March 20, 2006, 02:22 PM: Message edited by: Stourbridge Lion ]
More action seen along the river... [ March 27, 2006, 12:57 PM: Message edited by: Stourbridge Lion ]
There is a constant parade of trains along both sides of the river, so you can do your railfanning whilst enjoying a river cruise
The red passenger cars appear to be double-decked, is this a common configuration on DB, in Europe? Are they used for commuter service or normal inter-city coach traffic? The close-up of the last car appears to show cab windows, is this a push-pull configuration?
Heading Left to Right Between KAMP BORNHOFEN and BOPPARD heading LEFT to RIGHT Same Train Same Train (Passenger Cars on rear???) I have uploaded a MPEG file (3.19MB / 10 Seconds) that shows the entire clip these last three came from. http://www.railimages.com/albums/Europe/agf.mpg [ March 27, 2006, 12:59 PM: Message edited by: Stourbridge Lion ]
