I figured when Bachmann released there N scale 2-8-8-4s that the kit bashers would be cutting these up to make Yellowstones and Sp forward articulateds( can not remember AC 9?), NP, ect... Any 2-8-8-4 kitbash Photos? And yes I know there is a brass N scale Yellowstone, but it $1100.
Here are a couple of my bash. OK, so there are 3 pics. I am rather proud of my first ever bash. As a young boy, I saw these beasts in operation in El Paso,Tx and along the line to Tucumcari,N.M.. Thanks for looking. Carl
Thanks guys for the comments, very much appreciated. No more stills however. My next posting, I hope next week, will be a video showing it in operation as well as showing off the sounds of the ESU Loksound Select Micro decoder. I, myself, can hardly wait. Carl
Congratulations Carl, that turned out really nice! Even with Jason's amazing shells, this is a lot harder to do than meets the eye (unless your name is Jason Smith). Since there are not that many of us around, it's great to see more people like you joining the SKC...the steam kitbash club... Nice work! Regards, Otto K.
Thanks Otto, I appreciate your comments. The SKC, wow, I am thinking about an SP 4-6-2 project. Sound familiar, I wonder who could be doing that? Carl
Will mate one of my 2-8-8-4s with a Kato centipede tender and some detail changes, with a new rebuilt cab to form a wannabe Missabe M4
Carl; You did a fantastic job on that kit bash. I've been following your progress from start to finish. Well done. Shades
Could not resist some more pics.................................. Posting pictures of a project is a sure fire way to find problems. I did nit realize that the tender was sitting too high on the rear truck until I saw the above image. Thanks for looking Carl
