It seems like a dichotomy, relatively small,simple steam locomotives with what was, at that time, state of the art safety equipment ie. the large headlight. yet a huge, well equipped shop facility quite capable of handling those engines and more. Charle
Great photo, Roger. Beech Grove shops have lasted a long time. As far as I know, Amtrak is still using the facilities.
