This is a project I started about 20 years ago, and had some problems with it and I put it aside, so it is now time to finish it, Still much work to be done, outside and inside but this is the progress so far. The car originally appeared in RMC and is said to be a C&NW board of directors car. The chandeliers are in place and now the rest of the interior has to be finished.
Absnut, The plans and article was in the Nov.-Dec. issues of RMC The real car was originally built in 1867.
John, being retired I can understand that it might have seemed like last year! I shall have to try to get my hands on them.... looks like an interesting project.
The chandeliers are in place and now the rest of the interior has to be finished. Wow and I thought I was a stickler for interior details Great work and waiting to see the rest of the interior. John Moore
Update on the Josephina. The interior paneling is finished, the carpets have been laid and the curtains hung. The stoves have been set in place also. The steps to the lower center area can be seen in this photo. A vase with flowers has been aded in the center room and now it is time for the seats and other furnishings.
Thanks everyone , glad you like it. If it weren't for fine tip tweezers I could not model in N or probably any other scale. I'm putting the toilets at each end in now, then the seats and I'm looking forward to the big table and chairs for the center. This car was originally built for the board of directors so I figured the center was a natural for the big table.
Bill, Thanks, I'm about the only thing that's getting "flush" from trying to finish the toilets so I can move on to the next phase. John w
I have deleted the images of the unfinishied car and have added five new ones of "The Josephina" to my album on page three They are at; http://www.railimages.com/gallery/johnwidmar
.....Photographer that was forced into taking some photos of models but went along with it so he could get a shot of the Josephina.
