Sorry, no Corvettes. I need to concentrate on very ordinary cars - we will use the same computer model for N and HO as well. Those scales have more than their share of flashy cars; what is needed are the plain jane models so that is what Z scale will get as well.

Its ok Mark. I will still get some. How about posting some picture of the cars. Also, do you have pictures of the reefer yet. Just let me know when you want my money.

I recently received my Belair replacements. It looks like the been repair with Bondo. I think it still needs to be clean with alcohol to remove the wax. The primer came off with little effort.

Mark, if you are looking at doing the same models in N and HO as well, does that mean that we are unlikely to get Z scale cars that are already available in N or HO? If you consider what's available in HO now (I used to model vehicles in HO before I discovered Z) that doesn't leave a whole lot of common cars.

I would say that Chevy Impalas and Ford Crown Victorias would be great, but these are already available in HO and some in N.

Wow, Juerg, Alvaro's cars are amazing! The Scenicruiser is one of my all time favorites. A real challenge to scratchbuild with all those beautiful curves. Very inspiring work.

I'm curious how Alvaro did the corregation on the side panels? Also curious where he got all his drawings from? I've had a hard time finding more than single side view drawings for cars in the past.

    Thanks,
    Randy

    Wow!

WOW! That is one Lumpy Body!!!! Z scale is small, but the lumps are naked eye apparent! Hmmmmmm!

Is it possible to smooth out those lumps? Or some of them?

Dave, I just asked, Ben proved the link. And what a great link it is! Thanks, Ben.

Dave, MZZ makes a jeep if you don't want to scratchbuild it.

oops. sorry ben. yes, thanks ben. this is great stuff.
now ... has anyone already worked out how to scale these to z and print them out. (i guess alvaro has -- or else he has his own method).

this is a treasure trove and i'll be anxious to see how many here try their hand at building a car. a whole new avenue for our Z efforts.

    this is good.

I've done it before with other drawings. If you can manage to find one or two dimensions you can scale the rest of the drawing.

Try google for overall length or even size of the wheels (not neccessarily tires).

    John,

Us NYers are never supposed to admit we lived in California-especially Hollywood.

I'll never admit I lived in California! Doh-I just did!

    Yes,
Thanks. It must have been down for a while as others contacted me to reasure me that they had the same problem and for me NOT to start taking the computer box apart to see whatz wrong.
We had a deck cadet on board one of my ships and he just had to take everything apart and then call an enginer to help put all the patrz back together. Finally the chief engineer made up a tool box just for HIM, which included a nerf head hammer and a screw driver that only would scew IN.

Sounds like my nephew, Fred. My sister found all the missing electronics in his bedroom including a cell phone, cordless phone and digital camera. All of these HAD been functional and just sort of disappeared only to be found hidden undere his bed disassembled.
