I was wondering if Kato had addressed the derailing issue with the #4 turnouts. I'd like to use them in my layout, but I'm not really good at bending things without breaking them! :crying:
don't think Kato has changed anything...but the 'fix' is pretty easy, no bending required...here is a link to a recent thread on page 3 http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine...-points-on-the-OTHER-side-of-a-Kato-4-Turnout the you tube video is mine...I hope it illustrates how simple it is to make the switch operate flawlessly...I recommend this mod for almost every commercial switch/turnout. Quick question .. any way to tell if a Kato #4 turnout is old (bad screw position indication) or new (proper indication of power routing screws) by just looking at the turnout?
Well, it's from five years ago. Hey, this thread should never have existed! Kato Unitrak switches HAVE no issues, right? Doug
I did a search for the key words. I think this should link to the thread. (It worked for me using a different browser where I wasn't signed on to TB) https://www.trainboard.com/highball...-on-the-other-side-of-a-kato-4-turnout.80838/ Mike
