sector table project

The moving plate and the base of the sector table are made of 3/4 inch melamine particle board. I trued the edges on a jointer before edge-banding the pieces with heat-bonded melamine. The side rails above and below are straight-grained southern yellow pine salvaged from gymnasium bleachers. The melamine to melamine contact allows smooth motion with adequate friction to hold the table in place between movements. The rotary power selector switch is visible at the right.
