Can you believe a Kato GS4 for $500???? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kato-S-P-GS4-Daylight-/141241154949 WOW, both of mine have sound. What do you think, $750???? As suggested prior, fools and their money... Harold
Look at the timing of the bids in the last minute or so. Trying to snipe each other. The winning bid was eight seconds before close; matched but not beaten three seconds later, and then the auction probably closed. Educational for me.
Not funny and I think it was here before but here's a really nice layout for sale. Was on the cover of N Scale Railroading. Only hard part is having to pick it up from Cincinnati, Ohio (I'm in Nor Cal.). http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-x-10-Port...392401?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item4d1b3be711
Back from the '60's. A complete train set (says O but looks like bad N). Cast brick houses, no transformer (so it's not really a complete train set) and Flischmann couplers (?) only $439 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lone-Star-T...905208?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item23376f6f38
These two Minitrix locomotives still haven't sold. I especially like the $15 price tag on the one steam engine (written on masking tape no less). Still asking $346 (buy it now) each (with $15.75 shipping costs) http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINITRIX-ST...914351?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item35b81905ef http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINITRIX-ST...425715?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item4cfd043473
Really! An old Bachmann F-9 locomotive for $200 ($600 Buy It Now): http://www.ebay.com/itm/BACHMANN-N-...439698?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item3f332babd2
I added the wood burner stacked one to my collection a few years ago at about $20 gave it a real wood load and added a few details plus tweaked the mechanism some to run better. Old locos both that have one side of current supplied from the loco wheels the other from a tender truck and nowhere near what is being asked for either one. Can be made to be a decent runner with an all wheel pick-up tender, but not at the prices I see for either one.
This car isn't rare enough for me. Model Power 50' Box $30 (BIN) http://www.ebay.com/itm/DULUTH-WINI...204855?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item2ec22cb2b7
Everything this seller has is priced crazy (He has over 4000 listings, over 500 N scale alone) but here's an example. Woodland Scenics will sell you these black bears on their website for $14 (so they are available and the LIST price is $14). Here you can get them for $23.50: http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-BLACK-BEARS-WS-2186-/130957908486?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1e7db31a06
Here's another from the same seller. A Bachmann S-4 sound equipped loco that he cut and pasted the description and picture direct from Bachmann's website (including the $150 List price). Mislabels it as 1529 (picture shows 1528). Asking in a Buy It Now $209 but has it 'on sale' for $198.55: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATSF-1529-z...437677?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1e88ff166d
There's a bunch more of these, but they are really bad plastic cars (just a rough body and snap in wheels) not really good for anything, $1.00 each plus $2.50 shipping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/eSPee-1960s...851287?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1e8923ea97 http://www.ebay.com/itm/eSPee-1960s...755639?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item20e2b96a37
And he "Trademarked" his name. I think the owners of the real SP might have something to say about that. Seller has been on my Ignore List for quite a while.
Well, at least he's got a qualifying bid for it. $75/sq.ft for this quality is pretty good in this market.
It's a beautiful layout and well worth the price. I think the eventual new owner will be very happy with it.
LL for $300? Paint job regardless, I think not. http://www.ebay.com/itm/191122152522?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
For a 'custom painted' locomotive...those paint lines are very crisp or straight either... :closedmouth:
For $300, the least they could do is repower it with a Kato F40PH chassis. Edit: $71.68 for import charges if I wanted to buy it?
