Yeah the insanity over those trucks is truly stupid. They are plastic, made in China for probably $2.

Well, the street price is what the market will bear. If somebody pays a price higher than you are willing to pay, it is because the item is worth more to them than that amount of money. That may just mean that they have a lot more money than you do, or that the item is worth a lot more to them than it is to you, for whatever reason. The fact that some items have been out of production for a while, and the fact that some modelers are getting old enough that they don't expect to live long enough to see that item manufactured again in their lifetimes, can make for some decisions to pay a lot more than most others are willing to pay. At least eBay makes the sale at one "bid increment" above what the second highest bidder is willing to pay. And, by reading the other bid amounts, we can get some idea of how many others are willing to pay values close to the winning bid value. But, just because somebody wins an auction at x dollars and 3 other people bid more than y dollars, that really doesn't tell a prospective manufacturer anything more than he could make 3 sales at $y if he remakes that item. (And that assumes those other 3 guys don't by used versions and satisfy their desire before the new manufacturer can make his tooling and get his product to market.)
IMHO...I dont care if you are Warren Buffett...Spending that kind of $$$ for a small static N scale model of a truck is crazy !!! And I repeat..it's USED !!!
So far, there are 22 "crazy" people bidding. As P.T.Barnum would tell you, there are even more crazy people than that, out there. So,jut don't let that drive you crazy.
I wouldnt care if it still had the factory air in the box and it was kept in a hermeticaly sealed mayonnaise jar on Funk and Wagnalls back porch !! LMAO...
Well, now it seem that eBay won't let me delete any item from my watch list. Are others having the same problem?
I am not seeing any check box on my watch list. An "X" and "Delete Item" shows up when I hover my cursor in the area below the item description and seller's name, but clicking on (both of) them does nothing at all. Where are you seeing a check box on your watch list, and what browser are you using?
Wolf, I would be deleting that grey and scarlet locomotive too...Tigers, black widows, and daylights or nothing!
Well, DOOOH! Thanks for the "lesson". That method is certainly less convenient than what I have been doing for years that suddenly stopped working. I did not use to have to scroll to the top of the page to delete an item once I had checked it somewhere down the page. That is why I never noticed a "delete" option at the top of the page.
Maybe it's crazy to you. To the person who won the auction it is not. If I had a dollar for every time I was told that racing bicycles was crazy I would own a fleet of these tractor-trailers. Nah who am I kidding? I'd buy more locomotives.
