Use USPS and never UPS of FedEx as they charge brokerage fees that are a rip off. With USPS, it's between them and Canada Post.
Some Canadian N Scalers have US shipping addresses. There's at least one business in Niagara Falls, NY that offers "post office boxes" (not really as not USPS) for that reason. In addition to the other advantages of N Scale, it's small enough to get through Customs. Note: Legally speaking, I am not recommending this.
I have dealt with many, many Canadian folks, (not just trains), in my region who have a US PO Box or a "friend" to whom I have mailed an item, here in the USA.
Thinking back several years, I did ship an eBay parcel to someone with a U.S. address who was Canadian. He mentioned in a message that he set up the box for reasons as you described. I hadn't realized that others did this too. Yep, we're talking model trains, not a Renoir.
There are many overseas residents who use US forwarding services. When I see one, I make it clear in a PM that once the post office shows it as delivered to the forwarding service or box bank, my responsibility ends. In order for PayUp, Pal's buyer protection to cover you, you must send the item(s) to the address shown on FeePay's website. I have had several inquiries from prospective bidders in some places asking me to ship to a US address even though an overseas address shows on FeePay's website. I tell them that if the US address shows at the time of the sale, I will send it there. If not; I will not.
And his shipping price is right in line with his asking price: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Minnesota-...em442780ca98:g:KMAAAOSwXVNbZzIa#shpCntId#shId
Over priced car and definitely a rip on the shipping. Fits in a small flat pack mailer, free at the post office last time I looked, and you can get a cheap roll of bubble wrap at Walmart, A little under $ 8 to mail.
Very surprising indeed but at least the seller has relisted it for a more fair $99.99 LOL https://www.ebay.com/itm/Minnesota-...-MD-W-/302862205704?oid=292720528024#shpCntId
That's probably THE most accurate and truthful item description I've ever read on that site. I'm gonna guess someone needed parts for one. That or they just didn't bother to read the description or like to live life on the edge.
You have to give that seller some credit. Listed it as junk and went out of his way to describe it as junk and still got more than double his asking price.
