A couple of weeks ago, I finished the next EP2 in this massive project. This one was a bit harder not only because the paint scheme was a real challenge (working around all these brass details) but also the lights were very hard. But I was pleased with the results.
As far as those cars, I'll defer to a real MILW expert. The Olympian Hiawatha would look great behind it.
Wow! I just found this thread. I have one of the original brass EP-2s, so not 100% detail accurate, but it does need some paint and could use some lights. You shouldn't have to wait too much longer for some Kato cars to pull behind it, either.
Dang that's beautiful!! Can just picture it rolling thru the Cascades of Snoqualmie Pass, over Hull Creek trestle!!
Thanks for your compliments guys. I've been a little slow at finishing E-4. But I'm at the painting stage.
Kato is making the complete post-1952 Olympian Hiawatha in N-scale! I believe its due out in March 2018? Would look perfect behind this!!
How faithful to the prototype? That is my question.... I actually saw real Bipolars as a boy, and grew up nearby to Snoqualmie Pass....
https://www.nscalesupply.com/KAt/KAT-Passenger-Hiawatha.html The details look quite good, even an FP7/F7B to match!!
WOW sir! Those are STUNNING! That long dome has some amazing glass, and the windows & frames look amazing! Boy this year has been too good to us... if Kato wants to keep things rolling with a NCL I'm IN. This Hiawatha is quite a doozie, look at that pilot on the FP-7!
