I see a lot of work going on at crossing possible replacement lots of ballast piled up by track on up side rail cutting going on looks like new diamond in distance
I tried to access the Rochelle camera site perhaps a year ago and they had some sort of sign-up process requiring an e-mail address and all. I had no patience for that and never returned. Is it still that way?
Yes. Sadly. I have so many "memberships" and their associated passwords these days, it drives me nutty trying to remember all and keep them separated. Argh.
looks like they working on mainline at a time each rail road has one main open at a time one more up main to do then diamond if it needs replacing looks like mainly a up show but I'm sure bnsf is helping out as well
Apparently a different type of crossing has been installed at Rochelle. I've watched and listened as both UP and BNSF trains have crossed the new diamonds, but I do not hear any bang-bang as the wheels cross where the track gaps should be. Has a new type of diamond been designed that somehow creates a continuous gapless rail as a train crosses?
this isn't all beat up yet wont be long before it gets noisy with all the traffic here. crews from both up and bnsf working here today. bnsf doing siding work. both roads are tamping today
Obviously you're correct. Now that all BNSF and UP maintenance and clean-up personnel have finished, I'm beginning to hear the Bang-Bang getting louder. Oh Well, I was hoping that some brilliant young Mechanical Engineer had come up with a new innovative technology....NOT
