I tried to access the Rochelle camera site perhaps a year ago and they had some sort of sign-up process requiring an e-mail address and all. I had no patience for that and never returned. Is it still that way?

    Yes. Sadly.

I have so many "memberships" and their associated passwords these days, it drives me nutty trying to remember all and keep them separated. Argh.

Apparently a different type of crossing has been installed at Rochelle. I've watched and listened as both UP and BNSF trains have crossed the new diamonds, but I do not hear any bang-bang as the wheels cross where the track gaps should be. Has a new type of diamond been designed that somehow creates a continuous gapless rail as a train crosses?

Obviously you're correct. Now that all BNSF and UP maintenance and clean-up personnel have finished, I'm beginning to hear the Bang-Bang getting louder. Oh Well, I was hoping that some brilliant young Mechanical Engineer had come up with a new innovative technology....NOT:(
