I just noticed on George's site (wig-wag) that MT will be starting the state car series next year. Will it be as successful as the N-scale series was? Jim
Hmmmmm I will buy a Texas car when it comes out!!!! Maybe a Maine or Georgia for my fiance. Nothing more than that!!! $22.50 X 50 + Loco + Caboose = Alot more than what I have! But I know some will enjoy this collection!!!! Hobo Tim
I'll get the set -- if I live that long... They are beautiful cars and interesting as it shows each states flag and other info. It would be nice if MT could put out six packs -- six different states--- sure would save on POSTAGE and cut down the waiting time. Z has a much smaller hobbiest base but I hope they do well. Fred
I was wondering if MTL was going to do this set in Z. I'm not much of a fantasy set collector, but this one would be fun to collect and run at train shows!
Note that MTL has pre-orders open for the Illinois car. I suspect this will help them determine interest in the entire set and therefore the production capacity needed. I think it will do proportionally as well in Z as in N or perhaps a shade less. MTL has stated (and I think Joe D. has confirmed here) that the N Scale version was very, very successful for them.
Presonally, I'm waiting for the Canadian Provinces and Territories cars to be released in Z. :thumbs_up:
Hi George, You got it. I'm trying to move us towards more pre-ordering so we can get a handle on what will sell best. The IC car for December was out the door the first day, and we made plenty extra...I belive the rest of the Z Cars are down to minimums too. I don't think these will sell through as many units as the N scale version, but I've also heard from a number of folks in N that they want to get these as well. I hope I'm way, way wrong on this and it blows out. Like they say, success has many parents, and falure is often the orphan. Don't want to be standing there by myself ) Cheers Joe MTL
WHAT?!? I'm writing the UMTRR as fast as I can this month, and the Z freight cars are gone already?!? (I note in the "December MTL" thread that it looks like the NYC cars are gone too.) You guys are simply going to have to stop blowing out this stuff so fast :wink2:
