Recently I had someone ask if I could make a few Z track laying tools like the ones I did for N scale...

I've had requests to do items like this and have turned most down. I'm 77, who knows how much longer I'll be doing this so want to concentrate on projects that I'm interested in. Most of the time I have no problem taking extra time to document them and share them on thingiverse.com. I did go ahead and make these in Z scale and sent the files to the individual to try out. They were suppose to get back to me and if they worked I'd post them on my thingiverse.com account.

Well they never got back to me one way or another. Hopefully they are well and OK. Since they didn't I thought I'd ask if anyone else would take the files and print them and see if they work or not. Then get back to me so I could post them for others or not.

If you are interested and have the time to actually print and try them and will get back to me PM me with your email address and I'll send the files,

Well a couple people did print the tools and say they work well so I'm posting the files.

At this point I only made two of the N scale tools for Z Scale use.

The single track tool above that makes it easy to either curve or straighten flex track and ...

.... the double track tool that helps to shape a second track parallel to another track section that is either straight or curved.

You can find the files to print this on my thingiverse.com account ( HERE ).

You can find all the files to 3D print this object and others on my thingiverse.com account ( HERE ).

A link to the same on my site....

I have printed out both tools and they work great!
I tested them out on MTL flex track. I have not worked with a lot of track, and really no Z scale track.
I was able to easily curve the sections with the single track tool, then straighten them.
I then curved a section with the single track tool, stuck it down on a piece of plywood with double sided tape, and curved a second section, running the double track tool over the first section next to it.

    I recommend them!

Thanks Sumner for the free tools!
